The best questions on AML-Connect get answered quickly and become useful KB articles. Here’s what makes a question easy to answer well.

    **Include context.**
Where are you? What type of system or site are you working with? What have you already tried? A question like ‘My ALD seems to be losing effectiveness — we’re in Cambria County, system has been running 8 years, and recent chemistry shows net acidity increasing despite adequate limestone…’ will get much better answers than ‘What’s wrong with my ALD?’

    **Use the right forum board.**
General Q&A is for anything that doesn’t fit elsewhere. If your question is specifically about monitoring methods, use Monitoring and Methods. Treatment questions go in Treatment and Reclamation. Grant and program questions go in Programs and Funding. Technical system problems go in Technical Help.

    **Say what you’ve already tried.**
If you’ve already checked the KB, looked up a reference, or tried a fix that didn’t work, say so. It saves everyone from suggesting things you’ve already done.

**Link to relevant KB pages if you can.**
If your question builds on a KB article, link to it. It gives context and makes it easier to update the article with the answer once it’s resolved.

    **One question per topic.**
If you have three separate questions, post three separate topics. It keeps threads focused and makes them easier to search later.

When a question gets a good answer, the admin will add a summary with KB links to the thread and consider promoting the answer to the Knowledge Base. Your question might end up helping hundreds of practitioners.
