AML-Connect is a shared online platform for Pennsylvania abandoned mine land (AML) and acid mine drainage (AMD) knowledge, coordination, and support. It is designed for practitioners, agencies, watershed organizations, and partners across the PA AML/AMD network.
This article is your starting point. It explains how the platform is organized, what you’ll find in each section, and how to get oriented quickly.
How the Platform Is Organized
AML-Connect is organized around three content sections and one community layer. Each section answers a different question:
- Knowledge Base — How do I do this? Written guides, procedures, explainers, and policies. Read on the site.
- Resources — What reference materials are available? Tracked reports, templates, datasets, and fact sheets. Download and use.
- Media — Is there a file for this? Photos, videos, maps, presentations, and downloadable documents.
The community layer connects people across the network:
- Forums — Ask questions, get answers, share updates. Eight topic boards covering the full range of PA AML/AMD practice.
- Working Groups — Coordinate on shared projects and topics with focused groups of practitioners.
- Member Directory — Find and connect with practitioners, agencies, and partners across PA.
